Data archives

Authoritative, versioned datasets that underpin the project's analyses and the federal disaster-relief programs they study. Every archive is openly licensed, fully documented, and accompanied by reproducible code.

The project maintains two kinds of archive: public sources that the team mirrors and republishes in analysis-ready formats (the US Drought Monitor, Secretarial and Presidential disaster designations, FSA farm payment files, and the legacy FSA county boundary geodatabase), and FOIA-sourced records the team obtained directly from USDA FSA (county-level Normal Grazing Periods, LFP eligibility determinations, the LFP county boundaries used for eligibility, and the current FSA county boundary geodatabase).

The USDM-based archives update each Thursday with the latest weekly release. The FOIA-sourced archives are refreshed when new FOIA responses are received. Each card below links to a detailed README, machine-readable downloads, and (where available) an interactive dashboard.
